Clinical Workshop – January 2021 UPDATE

THERE IS CURRENTLY ONE VACANCY  AT THE CLINICAL WORKSHOP FOR PSYCHOLOGICAL THERAPISTS 

This workshop – which has been running since 2015,  is designed for mental health professionals working in the field of psychological therapies such as Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, Psychodynamic and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapists, Counsellors and Psychiatrists.

The workshop provides an opportunity for participants to bring their cases – whether assessments or ongoing therapy – for facilitated discussion. The aim is for the group to develop into a resource for CPD support and learning as well as networking. Once a term the meeting is devoted  to the discussion of a theoretical paper of interest.

TIME: MONDAYS 10:30 AM – 12 NOON – TERM TIME ONLY

LOCATION: EAST FINCHLEY, LONDON N2

THE TRAINER: Judith Felman is a former Consultant Clinical Psychologist with many years experience in the NHS, from where she retired in 2015. Her specialty is in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, having trained at the Tavistock Clinic in the 1990’s. In 2009 Judith became a member of the British & International Psychoanalytic Associations.

Over recent  years Judith developed an interest in Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy – a 16 session model to treat anxiety and depression that focuses on relationships. Nowadays she is a DIT accredited therapist, supervisor and trainer for the Anna Freud Centre in London. This centre, together with the Tavistock Clinic,  originally developed the model.

Judith’s approach to teaching is characterised by applying her psychoanalytic knowledge and thinking to the understanding of patients, regardless of the modality of therapy they are being treated in.
